In Memoriam

Jessie Gaylord (Clark) Sorum, 90, a descendant of Pilgrim William Brewster, died Aug. 5 in Valley. She joined the Nebraska Society in 2005. Preceded in death by her parents, Merritt and Sigrid (Nord) Clark; brother, Charles Clark, and husband, Merlin Sorum. Survived by sister, Dorothy (Clark) Robertson, South St. Paul, Minn.; brother, Richard Clark, Centuria, Wis.; daughters, Rita Johnson, Grass Valley, Calif.; Maureen (Chris) Westergaard (also a member of the Nebraska Society), Valley; grandchildren, Jennifer Chapman, Angela Higley, Sigrid Thompson, Natalie Dugan, Russell Westergaard; great-grandchildren, Marijke Thompson, Liam and Elijah Chapman; many nieces and nephews. Memorial service Aug. 7.
